Motivation

Pinterest has many pins about motivation.  Some are subtle likeMotivation others are not so subtle.....
Seriously... extremely motivating.  As we are planning the wedding and I started looking at dresses and looking at my self in the mirror, I realized that I did not want to look like this at the wedding.  I could just imagine the pictures of my beautiful, trim family and me--with those same 30 lbs hanging around my waist.  Those lbs were a result of many factors just like they are with all of us.  We don't just wake up one day 30 lbs heavier.  Although it does seem that way sometimes.
Again, Pinterest has changed my perspective.  I have a board dedicated to "Because" this is where I put those pins that mean something to me, but I really do not want the world of pinners to know they mean something.  Thus the label.  But better than pinning, I get to read at will all of the pins from the pinners I follow, the popular tab and the everything tab.  I can mentally translate those saying, pictures and attitudes to myself and my life.
With all of this weighing heavily on my mind: the wedding, the 30 lbs, the pins, the dress and again the 30 lbs; I hired a personal trainer.  Oh my, that was a hard thing to swallow.  Me--needing someone to push me around and make me hurt myself.  Well let's face it if I were in charge of my workout I would contemplate and over think and become so bogged down with self doubt and exhaustion that I would never get off the couch.  Except to go Pin some more on Pinterest.  Now, a personal trainer pushes me to do more. She has a plan laid out and all I have to do is follow it.  She takes the confusion out of the process.  Do I hurt all over? Yes!  Is that a good thing?  Yes!.  Here is the question you are all wanting to have answered: have I lost weight? Yes!  Just over 8 lbs in 3.5 weeks.  And that is through a work trip to San Diego and the Christmas holidays.  So, I am excited.  It is not easy. But, I will continue and keep you updated on progress.

Pinning and Penning

Why am I writing a blog?  There are plenty of good reasons,,,one: I like to write about things I am doing; two: I need something else to do (Not) and three: I think I can pen/blog about things that are interesting enough to pin on Pinterest.  Yes, I am addicted to Pinterest  If you have not signed up yet--go right now and do so.  Then come back here and read about why I love Pinterest.  Wait, stay here and read and then go to Pinterest to sign up. If you go there first, you will get distracted and not come back.  Pinterest is that much fun and that addicting.
We are planning a wedding for May 2012.  I started pinning on Pinterest about 3 months ago.  This is the best place I have found for organizing and sharing all of those wonderful, maybe too outlandish ideas.  Also, we can see what others are doing for weddings and receptions and then our own ideas do not seem so far-fetched.  I say "we" because my daughters--the bride and maid of honor are also pinning and sharing on our mutual boards.
We have found ideas to pin that support the idea of putting chairs in a semi-circle for the ceremony, having signs made out of old barn wood for directions for guests, using a birdcage for the gift cards to go in and so many more fun new ways to plan the wedding.  Plus, we have found shoes, dresses and decorations through linking to pins locations on websites and other blogs. And, Pinterest is free--except for the money you spend on the before mentioned items.
I have also started making things again.  After a long break due in part to being too busy and too sick to do much.  Pinterest has sparked my Interest again in crafting, art, decorating and planning.  I want to use this space to share what I take from Pinterest and make, cook, craft or decorate.  I plan to pen about the pin and the link the pin came from. Then I want to tell you about my successful or not so successful attempts at recreating from these links. I have so many ideas for the wedding too, that I will talk about those too and show you some more designs I came up with on my own.  All in all I hope to add enough interest through Pinning and Penning that you will follow me and give me feedback and new ideas too.
