We are planning a wedding for May 2012. I started pinning on Pinterest about 3 months ago. This is the best place I have found for organizing and sharing all of those wonderful, maybe too outlandish ideas. Also, we can see what others are doing for weddings and receptions and then our own ideas do not seem so far-fetched. I say "we" because my daughters--the bride and maid of honor are also pinning and sharing on our mutual boards.
We have found ideas to pin that support the idea of putting chairs in a semi-circle for the ceremony, having signs made out of old barn wood for directions for guests, using a birdcage for the gift cards to go in and so many more fun new ways to plan the wedding. Plus, we have found shoes, dresses and decorations through linking to pins locations on websites and other blogs. And, Pinterest is free--except for the money you spend on the before mentioned items.
I have also started making things again. After a long break due in part to being too busy and too sick to do much. Pinterest has sparked my Interest again in crafting, art, decorating and planning. I want to use this space to share what I take from Pinterest and make, cook, craft or decorate. I plan to pen about the pin and the link the pin came from. Then I want to tell you about my successful or not so successful attempts at recreating from these links. I have so many ideas for the wedding too, that I will talk about those too and show you some more designs I came up with on my own. All in all I hope to add enough interest through Pinning and Penning that you will follow me and give me feedback and new ideas too.
